Traditional Art / Drawings / Fantasy

Here is a sketch card of Isis that I drew for the LEGENDS & LORE card set. Sketch card measures 2.5" x 3.5".

Isis - Egyptian Great Goddess of life, death and rebirth. Daughter of earth and sky. Mother of Horus the falcon god. Wife of her brother Osiris, the god-king of vegetation and eternal life. She gave life after death to her husband. The eternal salvation that she could bestow was originally (in the Bronze Age) only for the god-king but gradually, as the cult became democratic in the Iron Age, it became available to all humans. Isis wears a thone-shaped crown which indicates that she originally personified the throne of the pharoahs.
